Your Ottawa Photography Questions
What do you photograph in your Ottawa studio?
Maternity, newborns, first birthdays, toddlers, family portraits, business headshots, boudoir, milestone birthdays and Christmas portraits. Each session is guided from planning to your finished photographs.
Will you guide my posing during the photoshoot?
Yes. You do not need any posing experience. I guide your posture, expression, hands and movement, with professional lighting to help you feel comfortable and look like yourself.
What should we wear for our portrait session?
Your preparation guide helps you choose. Bring favourite options and we can decide together. Maternity clients can use the studio gown collection, with multiple looks included. Boudoir clients bring their own outfits.
What if my children need a break during family photos?
Children are welcome as they are. We work with patience and flexibility, leaving room for their personalities and the moments between poses. Parents remain responsible for their children in the studio.
Can our whole family join the photography session?
Yes. Parents, siblings and extended family are welcome, with no extra charge for additional people. Tell me who is coming so we can plan your groupings.
What does a portrait session cost?
Portrait collections start at $860 + HST, including your guided session and 10 edited digital portraits. Headshots are $280 + HST with two edited digital images. See session pricing and inclusions for the details.
Are digital photographs included?
Essential includes 10 fully edited digital portraits. Signature includes 20 with matching 8×10 prints and one 11×14 print; Complete includes 40 with matching 8×10 prints and one 16×20 print. Choose your favourites in person after your session. Upgrades are optional. Headshots include two edited digital images; unedited files are not provided.
How long is a photography session?
Portrait sessions are scheduled for up to three hours. Headshots are one hour. We may finish photography sooner once your portraits are captured. Allow a 15-minute coffee break afterward while images are prepared, followed by about one hour for same-day viewing and selection.
Can we photograph in the studio and outdoors?
Both can be included under the same session fee. We can discuss the nearby location and the looks you would like while planning.
What if I need to reschedule my photoshoot?
The studio allows one reschedule with at least 72 hours notice. If someone is ill, please contact the studio. Retainers are non-refundable; read the studio policies for the full booking terms.
What if I feel camera-shy during my portrait session?
Most clients feel this way at first. The private studio, guided posing and professional lighting help you settle in. You choose your own favourite photographs after the session, with custom retouching tailored to your preference, from natural to glamorous.
Should I wait to feel more confident before booking portraits?
You deserve to remember this season as you are. Thoughtful styling, flattering lighting and gentle posing guidance help you feel supported throughout your photography session.
What if my partner does not enjoy family photos?
Your family photography session is guided efficiently, with clear direction and no awkward guessing about how to pose. We keep the experience relaxed and focused on your connection.
Can I bring my pet to the Ottawa photography studio?
Yes. Pets are welcome in the studio and can be part of your portraits.
Are prints included with additional portrait purchases?
Your Essential portrait collection includes 10 edited digital photographs. Headshots include two. Signature and Complete include matching 8×10 prints. Essential prints and wall art are purchased separately. Your edited portraits are emailed for approval before printing, and retouching can be adjusted until you love them.
How many outfits and studio sets can we use?
There is no limit on outfit changes or the number of sets you use within your reserved photography session. Bring options and we will help you choose the looks that work best.
What makes a guided studio portrait experience worth the investment?
Your photography session brings together a private studio, varied sets, wardrobe options, professional lighting, posing guidance, same-day image viewing and custom retouching. The finished portraits preserve a season of your life to enjoy for years.
