Maternity Photography Experience
Maternity sessions are designed to celebrate strength, softness, and the quiet transformation of motherhood.
This experience is intentional, guided, and refined — focused on creating powerful, elegant imagery that reflects both the beauty of pregnancy and the woman within it. You are not expected to know how to pose. Every element of your session is thoughtfully directed to ensure you feel confident, supported,
and beautifully photographed.
When to Book Maternity Photos
Maternity sessions are best photographed between 28–34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully defined and movement remains comfortable. It is recommended to reserve your session early, as availability is limited and sessions are intentionally scheduled to allow for a calm, un-rushed experience.
Maternity Photography Session Length
Maternity sessions are structured yet relaxed. Sessions are reserved for up to 3 hours, allowing time for wardrobe changes, posing guidance, and creative variation across multiple looks.
There is no rush — the goal is quality, not volume.
Studio Wardrobe | 50+ Gowns Provided
The studio offers a curated wardrobe of over 50 professional maternity gowns,
selected for movement, texture, and timeless appeal.
Gowns range from soft and romantic to bold and sculptural, allowing us to tailor your session to your vision and comfort level. You are welcome to choose multiple gowns during your session.
Styling guidance is provided throughout to ensure every look photographs beautifully.
15+ Maternity Backdrops
Your session includes access to 15+ professional maternity backdrops, offering a wide range of tones, textures, and moods. From clean and minimal to rich and dramatic, backdrops are selected intentionally to complement your chosen gowns, skin tone, and desired aesthetic. This variety allows us to create a diverse gallery within a single session while maintaining a cohesive, elevated look.
Guided Maternity Photography Posing
You will be guided through every pose.
Maternity sessions are fully directed, with attention to posture, angles, hands, and movement —
ensuring images feel natural, flattering, and confident rather than stiff or overly posed.
No modelling experience is required.
A Private, Professional Studio
Sessions take place in a fully equipped, private commercial studio designed for comfort and creativity.
The studio environment allows for controlled lighting, seamless wardrobe changes, and a calm atmosphere — resulting in polished imagery that cannot be replicated in unpredictable environments.
Partners & Children
Partners and children are welcome to participate. For the most efficient flow, individual maternity portraits are typically captured first, followed by family images. This ensures a smooth, enjoyable experience while preserving the quality and intention of each image.

Maternity + newborn, booked together
Save $100 on your newborn session fee
Book your maternity session and add a newborn session in the same cart and checkout. Your maternity session is $280 + HST; your newborn session is $180 + HST after the $100 discount. Each includes a guided session and two edited digital portraits. Optional packages are chosen at image selection.
Once your combined booking is paid, your newborn session is guaranteed — but no newborn date or time is held or booked. Contact Kayla after your baby arrives to arrange your newborn appointment. Your maternity appointment is the only date you select now.
The offer applies only when both sessions are purchased together. It cannot be added to a separate newborn-only or later booking. Pay $400 now: a $200 tax-inclusive retainer for each session, both credited toward your session fees. The combined total is $519.80 including HST. The remaining $116.40 maternity balance is due at your maternity session; the $3.40 newborn balance is due at your newborn session.

Preparation and delivery details
Edited digital downloads are ready within 3–5 days. Prints follow 1–2 weeks after image approval. Every package includes a custom wooden USB of your purchased images, containing the same files as your download.

Your Ottawa Photography Questions
What do you photograph in your Ottawa studio?
Maternity, newborns, first birthdays, toddlers, family portraits, business headshots, boudoir, milestone birthdays and Christmas portraits. Each session is guided from planning to your finished photographs.
Will you guide my posing during the photoshoot?
Yes. You do not need any posing experience. I guide your posture, expression, hands and movement, with professional lighting to help you feel comfortable and look like yourself.
What should we wear for our portrait session?
Your preparation guide helps you choose. Bring favourite options and we can decide together. Maternity clients can use the studio gown collection, with multiple looks included. Boudoir clients bring their own outfits.
What if my children need a break during family photos?
Children are welcome as they are. We work with patience and flexibility, leaving room for their personalities and the moments between poses. Parents remain responsible for their children in the studio.
Can our whole family join the photography session?
Yes. Parents, siblings and extended family are welcome, with no extra charge for additional people. Tell me who is coming so we can plan your groupings.
What does a portrait session cost?
Your session is $280 + HST and includes your guided session, studio sets and props, applicable wardrobe and two fully edited digital portraits. No additional purchase is required. The optional $690 + HST package adds ten images and matching prints. See pricing and payment details before booking.
Are digital photographs included?
Your session includes two fully edited digital portraits and no prints. Choose your favourites in person after your session. The optional $690 + HST package adds ten edited digital portraits with matching prints included in the extra package, for twelve digital images in total. Unedited files are not provided.
How long is a photography session?
Regular portrait sessions include up to 2 hours of photography, plus 1 separate hour for viewing and selection. Newborn sessions include up to 3 hours of photography, plus 1 separate hour for viewing and selection. The approximately 15-minute image-preparation and coffee break is additional and separate. Headshots retain their one-hour offer.
